More Protestant Nonsense: Divorce Her!

A friend sent this over to me via email. Again, we see why Protestantism fails on so many levels. They just keep going, and going, and going, and going.....further off into secular foolishness. Got a sick wife, divorce her! Another feather in the cap for Luther and Co.

Robertson never fails to entertain. Wish the clip hadn't been cut up. I'm sure they made him sound better than the rambling he was putting that poor girl thru.

So, this is what speaking in tongues can do to you! Wait, I'm getting a word of wisdom! Stop watching the 700 Club! Praise God!

Is this what Protestants are now adding to within their growing definition of spouse abandonment? Your wife gets old and forgetful, so now you can trade her for a newer one? What else can we cover under abandonment? Didn't that Elton John look-a-like, Steve Camp, use the "abandonment" as his excuse to get remarried?

As we know, Protestantism is a make your religion up as you go kind of deal. Remember those choose your own adventure books they used print back in the day? Its kind of like that, except you use the Scriptures to choose your own religion. When you do that, anything goes. You make Scripture say whatever you want it say. After all, who are you going to ask what Jesus really meant when he said, "What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder....And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for unchastity, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries a divorced woman, commits adultery." You just ask yourself. Steve Camp and those clowns in the "Reformed" camp all do the same thing. Before you know it, Camp is acting like Elton John, because Saint Paul didn't mean what he said in Romans either. And so it goes. Protestantism is really the reason why this country is in the shape it is in. As their man made religion moves further off base so does the country, which is why we need a much stronger authentic Catholic presence in this country.

Matthew,

You write:

I understand that you a staunch Catholic and think protestantism is mistaken, but isn't the "protestantism is the root of all evil" theme a bit misguided?

Last I checked, countries where most people profess Catholicism such as Spain and Portugal are pretty liberal and have same sex marriage and legalized abortion.

And as I've pointed out before, the Catholic Church doesn't share your low opinion of protestantism. The Joint Decree on Justification was signed with some of the most liberal groups out there, such as the Scandinavian Lutheran denominations.

Unfortunately some stuff has been left out so I'm not sure what Robertson said or meant.
