I know that the Sapientis: Crash Courses (Society of Scholastics) have been advertised on some blogs like Rorate Caeli, but I have to put my two cents in. I am very impressed by the course on worship that I took today. I would highly suggest that if you have the time on Saturdays from 12PM to 3PM or so, that you take a couple of these Crash Courses. They are certainly well worth your time. For only 15 bucks you can learn about various subjects using basic Thomistic philosophy. It is a deal you should not pass up!
You can have as many people as you can fit around your computer. Order a pizza and get your notebooks out and make a party of it. Below is a sample of what the class window looks like. The professor has a video window on the side and he presents slides in the center. Students can ask questions by typing or by microphone. Simply go to the website, sign up, and pay 15 bucks. You will get an email with the password on it, and then you log in for the class at Noon on Saturday. The lecture and the material presented was excellent. The class for next week is on torture! I am already signed up for it. I am sure I will sign up for a few more.
"Sapientis has several professors presenting these courses. Each professor has a Master's Degree, Licentiate, or Doctorate in Philosophy or a related field. They have all been personally approved by the Society, its board, and its officers for fidelity to Scholasticism."March 20th, 2010 - The Natural Superiority of Traditional Worship
