Oprah and the Dominican Sisters

I haven't watched Oprah since occasionally seeing it when my mother had it on the television when I was a kid coming home from school years ago. Recently I found out that Oprah did a show on the Dominican Sisters of Mary, whose convent is located just outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan. I was curious to see how it was done. so I checked it out on You Tube. Of course, as expected, Oprah seems to be focused on the issue of chastity, since the world is so obsessed with sex. Yet overall it wasn't too bad, and it the sisters appeared to have wisely used the opportunity to promote vocations. You can watch it in 4 parts below from You Tube. Aside from a few video glitches, it's not too bad.

I think the exposure was good, and that they represented themselves very well. This episode opened up a short discussion about Holy Orders with my roommate who is not Catholic but who is an avid Oprah-watcher!

I also thought that the exposure was good; however, I was disappointed with the attempt by the Lisa Ling lady at the end trying to psychoanalyze the sisters and their "underlying insecurity."
