The Akathist Hymn to the Blessed Virgin Mary

On my Theology of the Liturgy blog I have posted on the Akathist hymn to the Theotokos. As all Catholic liturgical prayers, they are steeped in authentic, orthodox, Catholic theology.

The same virgin Mary who is actually John Mark's mother, to whom Jesus says "what is there between me and you, woman?" And of whom Jesus says to John Mark "behold your mother"? For John Mark's mother was Mary the sister of Barnabas, and it was John Mark's house that Peter ran to after escaping prison in Acts. Jesus himself says "of all those born of women there has arisen none greater than John" by which Jesus shows He Himself was not born of a woman. And again in John 6:51, after the Jews said "don't we know his mother? How can he be from heaven?", Jesus says "I am the bread that came down from heaven and the bread is my flesh" showing tha he verily came in the flesh without birth, for he descended from heaven having his flesh already. So saith the apostle Marcion also whose writings the impious Catholics have burned at the instigation of the god of this world who hath blinded their eyes lest the glorious light of Jesus Chrestos reach them.

Or is this the virgin 'Mary' who gave birth to Mahershalalhashbaz in Isaiah 7-8 in fulfillment of the virgin birth prophecy which promises a virgin born child to appear and for the kings who oppose Ahaz to be defeated by Assyria before this child is able to know the difference between good and evil (for he is not God Incarnate so he must learn the difference)?

Is this guy serious? Quit polluting my blog unless you have something constructive to say.

This is constructive. Read the first two chapters of Matthew. Then go find every OT prophecy being cited there and read it in context. Ill even help with that. Isaiah 7-8 virgin birth prophecy. Micah 5 Bethlehem birth. Jer 31 Rachel weeping. Hosea 11:1 out of Egypt. Doesn't exist "he shall be called a Nazarene." And in context examination of each shows that whoever is writing in Matthew's name is misusing each and every one of them to forge a fictional story. And that story doesn't even fit with Luke. In Matthew the holy family moves to Nazareth about 3 years after Jesus' birth, but in Luke about 45 days after his birth! All of this ties in with Tertullian's Five books Against Marcion where he says Catholics accuse Marcion of removing the birth narratives YET the Marcionites accuse the Catholics of adding them. What does the text show when you analyze these OT passages in context??? It shows that the Marcionites were telling the truth. It is constructive to teach the truth for Jesus says it will set you free. At least do yourself the favor of being intellectually honest enough to read the OT passages in context. Then think about what is implied by "of all those born of women none is greater than John." If Jesus is born of a woman then by Jesus' own criteria John is greater than him. To be greater than John according to his own criteria he must not be born of a woman. So, is Jesus greater than John or not? All the evidence shows that the very notion that Jesus was born at all (not to mention the virgin birth specifically) was made up and added to the scriptures as a corruption in order to provide the state church (which was persecuting the Marcionites out of existence BTW) with a Cybell-like figure to be worshipped as a sort of goddess, thus diluting the devotion to Chrestos himself in favor of a fragmentary devotion that would turn men away from the MORAL precepts of Chrestos to a bunch of silly candle-lighting bead-counting PAGAN ceremonies. Think it through man!

Marcion was a heretic condemned long ago by the Ecumenical Church. You are delusional.

Your councils only condemned doctrines as heretical because the Roman Emperors paid them to. From a Catholic, 'heresy' means nothing but that wordly men didn't like a doctrine and so they had their thugs kill the people that believed in it and burn their books. Catholicism is the real heresy, as is shown by the fact that the Catholic editor had the audacity to add lie after lie to Matthew. Matthew used to start with chapter 3, but your heretical forebears twisted all these OT passages to form this fictional birth story and lack even the intellectual honesty to even read those OT passages in context and see the truth for yourself. Are you afraid that if you read Isaiah 7-8 and actually come to see what it really means that you will actually find God for real and be saved? Why that would be just horrible! What about "he shall be called a Nazarene"??? Not one of the Catholic fathers was ever able to find that made-up prophecy in the Old Testament! Neither can I find it, nor can you, because the lying Catholic editor of Matthew invented it from thin air. How does this not prove that Marcion was right and the Catholics were the heretics? You had to invent false prophecies to prove your doctrine. He proved his by going and burned at the stake at the hands of Catholics. All the martyrs you claim were Marcionites whose legacies you have stolen. Not one Catholic has ever died for your lies. You are cowards and liars. You don't even have the courage to read Isaiah 7-8!!!! Instead you just throw out this meaningless word "heresy" as if your labeling something a heresy made it so. You are not God. yell "heresy" all you like, but you are the heretic and the text itself proves it.
